Kirsten lives in Gloucestershire, and is inspired by the diverse landscapes of forest, rivers, hills and valleys in the surrounding area. She is fascinated by how light can completely alter a landscape’s mood from one moment to the next, and how those moments are emotionally charged. Through her work, she aims to create immersive landscapes that feel both familiar and deeply personal.

Through her paintings, she hopes that you will be able to feel the wind on your cheek, the smell of the mud, moss and grass, the sound of the breeze carrying the birdsong, the rumble of thunder. For Kirsten, being a painter is about connecting with you and her paintings are the start of that conversation.

Having studied Fine Art at Exeter, she has continued her professional development through short courses and postgraduate study. She has completed the Defining Practice and Professional Landscape courses at Newlyn School of Art, along with portraiture with Jason Walker RP.
